South Asians for Sustainability (SAFS) is a grassroots campaign dedicated to empowering South Asian communities to lead on climate action, sustainable living, and environmental justice.
We believe sustainability is not new to us – it’s rooted in our households, our traditions, and our shared cultural heritage. From reusing resources to mindful seasonal eating, our communities have always practised sustainability, even if it wasn’t labelled that way.
At SAFS, we spotlight these traditions, adapt them for today’s climate emergency, and connect them with solutions that make sense culturally. By bridging culture and our shared responsibility, we aim to inspire practical action that feels authentic, empowering, and community-led.
